PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program
Lutheran Hospital's PGY-1 pharmacy residency program provides advanced, postgraduate pharmacy training within a network of hospitals experienced in providing high-quality care to diverse patient populations. The residency program exposes residents to a wide variety of practice areas with experienced preceptors. Three new residents are accepted by Lutheran's pharmacy department each year.
The mission of the PGY-1 pharmacy residency program is to empower pharmacy residents to become independent, competent, confident pharmacists in an environment that fosters professionalism, teamwork and accountability.

Service Requirement
Each resident staffs three weekdays per month, every third weekend, one major holiday and one minor holiday as part of the curriculum's staffing component. Residents have the opportunity to provide additional staffing coverage as desired for additional compensation.

All applications are due by Jan. 7 via the PhORCAS system and must include all information detailed below. The standardized PhORCAS application and recommendation letter forms may be used. All applications should also be accompanied by the Lutheran Hospital residency application form supplement.

- Letter of Intent - Should include statement of professional goals, why the applicant is interested in Lutheran Hospital's PGY-1 pharmacy residency program and why the applicant considers him/herself to be a good candidate
- Curriculum vitae
- Official university transcript
- Letters of recommendation (3) - Minimum of one from preceptor and one from current/former employer or volunteer program coordinator; must be sent directly from the author of the recommendation letter
- National Matching Services applicant code number
