Parkinson’s Disease: September 19 LKH Community Education Series Talk
9/5/2024
Community members are invited to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital (LKH) for an educational session titled, “Parkinson’s Disease: Know the Signs, Symptoms and Treatments” to be given by Kevin McGeehan, D.O., board-certified neurologist. The meeting will take place on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the LKH administrative classroom, 2101 E. DuBois Drive in Warsaw.
Parkinson's disease is a progressive disorder that affects the nervous system and the parts of the body controlled by the nerves. Symptoms start slowly and worsen as the condition
progresses over time. Symptoms include unintended or uncontrollable movements, such as shaking, stiffness and difficulty with balance and coordination. Although there is no cure for Parkinson’s disease, medicines, surgical treatment, and other therapies may relieve some symptoms. Dr. McGeehan will outline the symptoms of Parkinson’s disease; the stages, risk factors and the most current treatment options. A question and answer session will follow. Reserve by calling (260) 435-7787 or emailing CommunityRelations@LHN.net.
The Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital Community Health Series features medical experts educating and encouraging community members to live a healthier lifestyle.
