Lutheran Physicians Give Back to the Community for Doctors’ Day
4/3/2023
In celebration of National Doctors’ Day on March 30, Lutheran Health Network honored its medical staff by donating to their favorite local charities.
The day is set aside to recognize physicians for their skills, sacrifice and service to the community. Last year, LHN physicians decided to use the day to support nonprofit organizations with donations in lieu of tokens of gratitude they typically received. And true to their generous nature toward others, the medical staff gave even more donations to more organizations in honor of Doctors’ Day this year.
The following organizations will receive a portion of the donations totalling $25,000 on behalf of physicians from various Lutheran Health Network facilities:
- Bluffton Regional Medical Center – Caylor-Nickel Foundation Family YMCA
- Dukes Memorial Hospital – Dukes Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Scholarship Fund
- Dupont Hospital – Healthier Moms and Babies; A Mother’s Hope
- Lutheran Downtown Hospital – SCAN; The Shepherd’s House
- Lutheran Hospital – Fort Wayne Rescue Mission; Erin’s House
- Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital – Combined Community Services; Syracuse Food Pantry; Manchester Fellowship of Churches; Mary & Jerry’s Helping Hands; North Webster Area Community Services
- The Orthopedic Hospital – Hope’s Harbor
- Lutheran Health Physicians – Turnstone
