Telehealth Visits for COVID-19 Screening

Lutheran Health Network is now offering telehealth visits for individuals who are concerned about whether they have contracted COVID-19. Telehealth visits take place from the comfort of your home and are for individuals with minor to moderate symptoms. Doctors can evaluate symptoms such as fever, cough and shortness of breath, discuss known risk factors, answer questions and recommend next steps, including referring you to the right location for an in-person visit if needed. Telehealth visits can help reduce the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

Telehealth visits or a call to your physician’s office are the first step for those concerned about COVID-19.  Most people with COVID-19 will not need hospital care and should not go to the emergency room for screening, so that ER services remain available for those with the most critical needs. However, if you have chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, a severe headache or potentially other life threatening conditions, call 911.

Risk assessments are based on guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the World Health Organization. Visits assess for symptoms such as fever, cough, and shortness of breath. Patients are asked about recent travel or contact with people who have been traveling or who may have the infection. While a diagnosis of COVID-19 cannot be confirmed virtually at this point, the doctors can evaluate your risk for the condition, answer your questions, and recommend next steps. They also can help coordinate referrals for in-person care if necessary.

Many insurance plans cover telehealth visits. Please check your plan coverage. Alternatively, cash pay cost is $49/visit.  Additional charges may apply if future testing is needed.
