Lutheran Physicians Give Back on Doctors’ Day
3/31/2022
In celebration of National Doctors’ Day today, Lutheran Health Network is honoring its medical staff by donating to their favorite local charities.
The day is set aside to recognize physicians for their skills, sacrifice and service to the community. But true to their ongoing care and compassion toward others, LHN physicians decided to select nonprofit organizations to receive donations in lieu of tokens of gratitude the Network typically provides them in honor of Doctors’ Day.
“We are grateful to the doctors on our medical staff for the steadfast care provided to the thousands of patients we treat each year throughout the region,” said Scott Teffeteller, CEO of Lutheran Health Network. “It is humbling to once again see them give back to the region we serve as we seek to honor them on National Doctors’ Day.”
The following organizations will receive a portion of the donations totaling more than $13,000 on behalf of physicians from various Lutheran Health Network facilities:
- Bluffton Regional Medical Center – Wells County Food Bank
- Dukes Memorial Hospital – Helping Hands of Miami County
- Dupont Hospital – Boys & Girls Club of Fort Wayne
- Kosciusko Community Hospital – Kosciusko County Jail Chemical Addiction Program
- Lutheran Hospital – Matthew 25 Health and Care and Erin’s House for Grieving Children
- Lutheran Downtown Hospital – The Rescue Mission
- The Orthopedic Hospital – Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House
