RediMed Receives Certified Urgent Care Designation from the Urgent Care Association of America

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (Jan. 9, 2012) – RediMed recently received designation as a certified urgent care center from the Urgent Care Association of America. This certification, which distinguishes RediMed as a true urgent care center, demonstrates RediMed’s commitment to provide patients with access to the highest possible levels of care. RediMed is the only urgent care center in the region with this certification.

To achieve the certified urgent care designation, centers must meet or exceed established criteria, which is available for viewing at ucaoa.org/recognition_certification_criteria.php .

As the healthcare environment continues to change, it becomes more and more important for patients to understand their treatment options. Urgent care fills the gap between primary care and hospital emergency rooms, offering increased convenience and cost savings.

“As the public hears more about urgent care as an alternative for nonemergent medical needs, some may find it difficult to distinguish one center from the next,” said Leslie Fennig, RediMed’s COO and VP of nursing services. “By earning this certification, we hope patients will recognize that our four urgent care clinics have gone the extra mile to meet national standards for quality urgent care.”

RediMed urgent care clinics provide convenient, cost-effective medical attention for a large scope of medical conditions. Urgent care is a viable option for medical conditions that cannot wait but do not warrant a trip to the emergency room. These conditions include unexpected cuts, sprains, fractures and bouts with seasonal illness. RediMed clinics are equipped with X-ray, laboratory services and licensed providers who perform minor procedures. RediMed accepts unscheduled, walk-in patients during all hours of operation.

While RediMed is best known for treating minor illnesses and injuries, it also has a proud tradition of offering occupational medical services to area employers. Case managers at Business Health Services help companies coordinate pre- and post-employment physicals, drug and alcohol screens and treatment of injured or sick employees.
