Patti Hays Accepts Newly Created Position within Lutheran Health Network
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (July 20, 2009) — The Lutheran Health Network announced today that Patti Hays has accepted the position of senior vice president of regional service development. In this newly created role, Hays will work to develop stronger relationships with hospitals and physicians in the region. She will act as a liaison for the entire Network, focusing on enhancing existing relationships inside and outside LHN. The goals for this position are to expand the Network's regional outreach, further strengthen existing relationships and introduce LHN's wide array of services to new audiences. She begins her new duties immediately.
"Patti has been a key player in multiple strategic projects for LHN, including the recent syndication of Lutheran, St. Joe and Rehab hospitals and the initial planning process for the construction of Dupont Hospital," said Mike Schatzlein, chief executive officer, Lutheran Health Network. "Her expertise in physician relations and service development will be a tremendous asset as we continue our role as the leading healthcare provider in the region."
Hays has been with LHN for 15 years, most recently as chief operating officer of outpatient services at Lutheran Hospital. She has also held the positions of associate administrator for the hospital; and senior vice president of strategic development and director of physician relations for the Network.
Hays holds a master's degree in nursing from Louisiana State University Medical Center with clinical specialty in administration. She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from West Virginia Wesleyan College with minors in biology and psychology. Hays demonstrates a strong commitment to the community by serving on boards for several local organizations including:
- AWS Foundation, vice-chair
- Fort Wayne Civic Theatre
- Leadership Fort Wayne
- Invent Tomorrow, former board president
Hays also volunteers for the American Heart Association.
