Lutheran Children’s Hospital Pushes Pies in Support of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

Come get a pie in the face to support kids with cancer

WHAT: Lutheran Children’s Hospital staff, pediatric oncology patients and their families are “whipping” childhood cancer with pie. Anyone touched by cancer, young or old, is welcome to join in a fun opportunity to support a less-than-fun disease by throwing or receiving a pie in the face. Visit whippingchildhoodcancer.com for more information and for additional ways to get involved.

WHEN: 2 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 24, 2014

WHERE: Mad Anthonys Children’s Hope House lawn
7922 W. Jefferson Blvd., Lutheran Hospital campus
(across from the north parking garage)

WHY: Managing a serious illness such as cancer can be daunting for anyone, but when a child experiences this setback it is even more difficult for the entire family. Lutheran Children’s Hospital supports families and children managing numerous types of childhood illness.
