Lutheran Health Network's Amy Hyduk Elected 2014 President of Indiana Pharmacists Alliance
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Oct. 15, 2013 – Lutheran Health Network pharmacist Amy Hyduk was sworn in as president of the Indiana Pharmacists Alliance during the organization’s annual meeting. Her one-year term will begin Jan. 1, 2014.
Hyduk received her Doctor of Pharmacy from Butler University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences in 2004 and her MBA with a healthcare management endorsement from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2007. She works for Lutheran Health Network in Fort Wayne as network director of clinical pharmacy services and the pharmacy residency program.
After she was sworn in, Hyduk said, “The Indiana Pharmacists Alliance has made great strides in the past several years in terms of legislation that has significantly advanced the pharmacy profession in Indiana. I am looking forward to contributing further to the advancement of the profession in this state.” She went on to further discuss how recent advances in pharmacy practice in Indiana have improved patient care and then urged Indiana pharmacists to continue to promote those services to patients and other healthcare providers as well as working to ensure that the various stakeholders in healthcare understand the value of pharmacist services.
Hyduk’s professional involvement includes serving the IPA as president-elect in 2013 and as its District 3 representative prior to that. Hyduk serves on the Experiential Advisory Council for Manchester University College of Pharmacy. She belongs to many professional associations including the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Northeast Indiana Pharmacists Association, Allen County Medical Reserve Corp and Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana.
