K21 Developing Medical Office Building with KCH as Anchor Tenant

New $2 million facility will be located across from KCH

WARSAW, Ind. (Jan. 23, 2013) – K21 Health Foundation is working with Kosciusko Community Hospital to develop a medical office building that will expand care to the community’s youngest residents. K21 is developing a 12,680 square foot investment property at 902 Provident Drive, Warsaw, and has secured KCH as an anchor tenant. Pediatric Healthcare, the pediatric practice of Dr. Todd Dillon, Dr. Neeta Jain and Dr. Alicia Plummer, will utilize approximately two-thirds of the facility. Dr. Plummer will begin practicing in July at Pediatric Healthcare which is currently located at 1210 Provident Drive, Suite A.

“This is a great opportunity for K21 to invest funds in a community health initiative that meets the Foundation’s vision for improving the health of our citizens,” K21 Health Foundation President and CEO Rich Haddad said. “This project aligns with our purpose while being a financially sound investment with long-term return to the Foundation. KCH expressed a need for office space and this is a natural partnership, as we get to develop a great investment property, but do so in a way that impacts health services right here in our county.”

In 2012, Kosciusko Community Hospital worked with K21 to design the facility. Construction has already begun and the building is expected to be completed in August. Physicians will move into the facility upon its completion. “Our growing number of pediatric patients and the addition of a new pediatrician this summer commands the need to move Pediatric Healthcare to a larger space,” said Stephen R. Miller, CEO of Kosciusko Community Hospital. “We are delighted to work with K21 on this children’s health focused initiative. We are equally pleased that investment income generated from the property will continue funding K21 projects.”

Dennis Hively, KCH Board of Trustees President, believes the facility is a natural extension of K21’s history with KCH. The K21 Health Foundation developed in 1999 when Kosciusko Community Hospital was sold and all proceeds from the sale remained in the community to be managed by the Foundation. “K21 is to be commended for the outstanding work it does to critically examine health-focused community needs and then invest in those needs that improve community health. This facility is another opportunity to meet the same objective. KCH is happy to be a part of this endeavor.”
