Lutheran Medical Group Physician Couple Hosts Open House for New Family Medicine Practice in Leo

Dr. Austin Schlie Returns to His Roots to “Give Back” to Community

Leo-Cedarville, Ind. (Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012) – This summer, Lutheran Medical Group built a new family medicine office in Leo. The $1 million project, now complete, will house two family medicine physicians, Austin Schlie, DO, and Sarah Schlie, DO. The Schlies, who are accepting new patients, will open their practice Aug. 28.

Keeping with their desire to build lifelong relationships with their patients, the Schlies will host an open house Monday, Aug. 27, from 5 to 7 p.m. The single-story facility in Leo is 4,168 sq. ft. and located at 10429 Hosler Road. Area residents are encouraged to meet the Schlies at the open house, tour the new space and enjoy healthy refreshments.

Lutheran Health Network identified a need for family medicine physician care in the Leo-Cedarville community and beyond, a need that extends as far as northwestern Ohio. This new Lutheran Medical Group practice will provide a wide range of services including obstetrics.

Dr. Austin Schlie, a native of Grabill, graduated from Woodlan Junior/Senior High School with the intention of attending medical school and eventually returning home to establish a medical practice. Dr. Sarah Schlie is originally from Reno, Nev. The two met in medical school and married in 2009.

The new building contains convenient parking, six exam rooms, an area for lab work and a procedure room.

Lutheran Medical Group’s objective with some of its newer facilities was to find a great blueprint and repeat it when possible to save on the cost of design work. The Leo office floor plan is the same as another LMG family medicine office for which ground was broken in June in Roanoke. Sperry Van Ness/Parke Group is the developer and LMG will be the tenant of both offices.

Lutheran Medical Group is the largest member of Lutheran Health Physicians, an alliance of Lutheran Health Network-owned physician practices that includes Bluffton Physician Services, Dukes Medical Group, Kosciusko Medical Group and St. Joseph Medical Group.
