Dupont Hospital Makes 100 Great Community Hospitals List
Only facility in northeastern Indiana recognized
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (July 13, 2012) – Dupont Hospital has again been recognized nationally for its ability to provide excellent healthcare to patients here in northeastern Indiana. Becker's Hospital Review has published its list, "100 Great Community Hospitals," which recognizes high-performing hospitals that have fewer than 550 beds and minimal teaching programs.
Community hospitals are a critical component to the American healthcare continuum. These hospitals are often the anchors of health and employment within their communities, providing patients with top-quality care close to home. Hospitals recognized on the list of 100 Great Community Hospitals have demonstrated commitments to the health of their local population through clinical excellence, community involvement and various other efforts.
To compile this list, the Becker's Hospital Review editorial team analyzed information, recognition and rankings from a variety of industry sources, including iVantage Health Analytics, Thomson Reuters, HealthGrades and the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Dupont is the only hospital in the region, and one of seven Indiana facilities, to be honored.
A full-length edition of the list can be found here: 100 Great Community Hospitals.
Dupont Hospital also received the prestigious distinction in April of being named one of the nation’s 100 top hospitals by Thompson Reuters in its annual survey.
