Founded in 1904 on Thanksgiving Day, Lutheran Hospital is a tertiary-care facility committed to providing exceptional care and services to families in northeastern Indiana, northwestern Ohio and southern Michigan.

With a dedicated team of physicians and staff specializing in areas such as cardiology, cancer and orthopaedics, as well as heart and kidney transplantation, Lutheran is committed to providing patients top-quality care that helps ensure the best outcomes possible.

Lutheran Hospital is the region's only heart and kidney transplant center, a center that has earned national and world recognition thanks to its dedicated physicians and staff. In 2009, Lutheran Hospital continued its long tradition of heart-care excellence by being named the eighth accredited heart-failure institute in the country by The Healthcare Accreditation Colloquium.

In addition, Lutheran Children's Hospital, which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary, offers pediatric inpatient and intensive care units and the most pediatric subspecialties in the region. The facility's "hospital-within-a-hospital" concept allows children to be treated like children, not like small adults.

Lutheran Hospital was recently verified as a level II adult and pediatric trauma center by the American College of Surgeons, and the hospital offers the latest technologies, such as the da Vinci Si Surgical System, the Sensei X Robotic Catheter System, a pharmacy robot and a filmless radiology department.
