A member of the Lutheran Health Network, The Orthopaedic Hospital is a patient-friendly facility and is one of only a few hospitals in the United States devoted strictly to orthopaedic care. Partnering physicians work with LHN to help ensure top-quality patient care for residents living in northeastern Indiana, southern Michigan and northwestern Ohio. Orthopaedic surgeons and specially trained nurses, physical and occupational therapists, surgery tech/assistants and patient care assistants make up the orthopaedic team.
Although patients with orthopaedic needs have been expertly treated at Lutheran Hospital for decades, The Orthopaedic Hospital facility was built in 2006, and was designed specifically to treat patients with orthopaedic and spine needs.
Total joint replacements, spine surgeries, sports-related injuries and chronic pain are just a few of the treatment options performed and/or treated by the hospital's highly skilled and experienced physicians and staff. Notably, The Orthopaedic Hospital offers the region's less invasive hip replacement surgery, utilizing the unique anterior-approach.
Complex orthopaedic surgeries that require a hospital stay and some outpatient procedures are performed at The Orthopaedic Hospital in the Lutheran Medical Park, 7952 W. Jefferson Blvd. Outpatient procedures—those that require a 23-hour or less hospital stay—are completed at the outpatient surgery unit, 7601 W. Jefferson Blvd.
