Pharmacy Practice Residency Program

The Pharmacy Practice Residency Program provides advanced post-graduate pharmacy training in a network of hospitals experienced in providing high quality care to diverse patient populations. The residency program will provide the resident with exposure to a wide variety of practice areas with experienced preceptors. The Lutheran Health Network Pharmacy Department accepts two new pharmacy practice residents annually to the program.

The mission of the LHN Pharmacy Residency Program is to empower pharmacy residents to become independent, competent, confident pharmacists in an environment that fosters professionalism, teamwork and accountability.

Service Requirement
The resident staffs three weekdays per month, every fourth weekend, one major and one minor holiday as part of the staffing component of the curriculum. The resident has the opportunity to provide additional staffing coverage as desired for additional compensation.

  • Letter of Intent - Should include statement of professional goals, why the applicant is interested in the Lutheran Health Network residency program and why the applicant considers themselves to be a good resident candidate.
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Official University Transcript
  • Letters of recommendation (3) — Minimum of one from preceptor and one from current/former employer or volunteer program coordinator; must be sent directly from the author of the recommendation letter.
  • National Matching Services Applicant Code Number.
